Gourds are the perfect medium for me. I can carve them, use pyrography, paint, weave, dye or write on them. I can do tribal art, primitive motifs, cutesy stuff, patriotic themes, goth looks, or whatever suits my fancy. So far I haven't run out of ideas! Text and Photos Copyright Fayme Harper 2012.

Remember my African Dancer Gourd?
I was grocery shopping when who should we run into but the lady I made the African Dancer gourd for. I'd never met her in real life but she thanked me profusely for giving her the gourd. She was very exhuberant. Always nice to have a happy fan!
Reminder: Gourd Art Display
Many of my gourd art items are on display at the Buena Park Library on La Palma (near Knott's Berry Farm) until the end of April. So go check them out and check out a book or two while you are at it.

Gourd Art Display
My best gourd art is on display right now at the Buena Park Public Library in S. California. You can go and see it during normal library hours. It will be on display throughout March and April 2007.
